one of the most confusing yet funniest thing that happened in in medalist is actually hikaru's very one-sided beef with tsukasa lol
like damn she really just... hates him huh
but i can understand though, the thing about being kids is that, it takes time for them to understand that everyone have nuance and just because other people have different opinions and ways of doing things from you, doesn't mean they're terrible people...
it's just like rioh and yodaka's whole... thing.
that man literally sees rioh as his own nephew, yet this is the guy who got some of The Most terrible communication skill in the story, and every time he talk to rioh, he just end up hurting that kid... like the beef is so one-sided, i'm glad rioh is able to meet tsukasa and gradually get over his insecurities when it comes to comparing his own success to hikaru herself and yodaka jun lol
also, inori's got her own beef with yodaka too lmao i hope tsurumaikada will let these two confront each other again, maybe without tsukasa to protect her... maybe then we'll see a new side of them 🤔🤔🤔
#idk man but i love how tsurumaikada wrote the relationship between the adults and the kids in this manga#something about how the kids have such... heightened emotions about them because when you're kids... adult's words Really Matters at times#especially when it comes to developing a sense of identity and security in knowing that it's okay to be your true self#that even if you're pursuing change there'll be people who will support you no matter what happens#it's very interesting how all of the adults have their own answers to that question when it comes to handling those expectations as teacher#and guides to these children to such... harsh world#and also why i think tsukasa is such a good teacher for inori (which... yodaka jun himself admit to be true lol)#he gives inori the options and the knowledge he accumulates from his experience yet he never succumb to his ego as an adult#and make decisions for her (which... can't be said about her own mother in the early chapters)#he gives her agency and in return despite all of the failings she experienced... she's able to get up and fight again and again#because of the knowledge that people close to her will always support her#and i'm glad that now she's also a source of inspiration for hikaru now#she doesn't have to emulate yodaka jun and hide behind his shadow for security... she can now skate in her own ways#without being chained by her own assumptions of what yodaka jun would do as a skater#omg this is getting too long but i don't really talk about medalist here because i usually just tweet about it#but yeah.... medalist... so fucking good#i read it because i do find figure skating interesting and ofc... for the yuri#didn't expect to be fascinated by tsurumaikada's ability to write human drama#and the complexities of communication between different generations#tmi tag#medalist spoilers

I… hadn’t realised how long it had been since my last Atlantis Complex re-read but it’s 100% been since before I really accepted I had OCD and Artemis at the start is acting a little to relatable to not-on-meds me for my liking.
12 year old me: Yes, Artemis is a bit weird in this one. You know, because of the whole Orion thing. The number thing and paranoia prior to him having his mental break are both Totally Normal; we all have routines like this. Yes, they’re ridiculous but they’re Safe and they Work.
23 year old me: Ohhhhhh nooooo, that was the Diagnosis™️ speaking.

wanna ask how you feel about the eridan bpd headcanon/theory(?? not sure what to call it!) you're so good at your character analysis and i'd love to see your outlook on it
Since I don't have a degree or any formal training in psychology, I feel deeply uncomfortable diagnosing characters. I've made an autism joke before but only because I'm on the spectrum. He's definitely traumatized and anxious, but I mean those as descriptors of his behavior rather than capital-D Diagnoses. I try to focus on those when I can - the cause and effect of cognition, self-image, and behavior - and those factors may very well match up with DSM criteria, but I try not to touch an actual diagnosis with a ten foot pole unless the author has explicitly stated that X character has Y condition.
#there's a variety of reasons for this#part of it is that im GROSSLY unqualified to be handing out diagnoses when it takes a full on PhD to do that in real life#part of it is that psychology is inchoate and we are still very much in murky waters#for example: complex ptsd isn't even IN the DSM yet#and iirc my therapist told me it was because theyre still figuring out how to classify it (attachment disorder? trauma disorder? etc.)#part of it is that (from my limited and undereducated understanding) there are diagnoses that you can assign by completing a checklist...#but some that require a hell of a lot more testing and ruling out other potential causes#and the cluster-b personalities are (IIRC) not even ones you're supposed to diagnose minors with#bc of fears of self fulfilling prophecy and because minors in general are still developing personalities In General#and like the fact that i can't say that with authority speaks to how unqualified i am to do any diagnosing right? hahaha#and part of it is just because like#unless the story is specifically About That and the author has stated so explicitly#i think diagnosing characters tends to put blinders on analysis#like if i were to seriously go 'eridan is autistic' then it would massively bias my reading and understanding of his character#and we have 0 indication that eridan was ever explicitly intended to be autistic or that the author was trying to do an autism specifically#that doesn't mean that the reading is invalid because like thats what death of the author means#all readings are technically valid including stuff the author didn't necessarily intend#but that's just not the way i like to engage with media and not the way i like to approach character analysis#because PERSONALLY it just feels kind of reductive - but also -#i'd wager MOST of us don't have degrees in psychology#so when i say 'X character has Y condition' it might mean something totally different to somebody reading my analysis#even people who have Y condition aren't exempt because a lot of mental illnesses differ from person to person#whereas if i explain “X character has Y thoughts and Z behaviors” there's no ambiguity in that#eridan struggles with noticing that people are suffering and with realizing that he should care#at least part of this is due to his horrific murder-filled upbringing which rendered empathy a detriment & so he learned to ignore it#it could be autism - but it could also be trauma -#or he might just be Like That without actually meeting the diagnostic criteria for autism#& you can't even technically be diagnosed with C-PTSD#or maybe he has a burgeoning personality disorder but you aren't supposed to DX those too early anyway#or maybe hes just 13. see what i mean hahaha. ive reached the 30 tag limit

Since the dental Tribble has been on a strict no kibble, no crunchy, no chewing diet. (In a week or so she'll be allowed to use her teeth again a bit more, but no one wants to see a dog get dry socket.) Spouse feels that canned dog food (perpetually on hand to make into pupsickles) is not experienced as filling enough, and we do know that Tribble has done better on grain inclusive foods for the past decade, so... the rice cooker has been simmering with chicken stock rice too bulk out the canned food all week, and Matilda and Benton have both gotten a fair bit of overflow rice as a treat.
Unconnectedly, tonight happens to be my first night alone as the sole human all evening in quite a few months. Matilda has been doing her job of enforcing bed, of course, but I can also rely on other humans to help make routine happen if she's too tired to be on it.
If I was worried that Tilly hadn't worked out her evening routine enforcement functions before now, I shouldn't have been. I don't think I've ever seen a dog so excited to move the evening along towards the part where dinner and the good cookies are.

How Digital Technologies and AI Are Accelerating Complex Generics Development
Tumblr media
In the rapidly evolving pharmaceutical landscape, complex generics development stands as both a necessity and a challenge. Unlike traditional generics, complex generics often involve intricate formulations, novel drug-device combinations, and sophisticated delivery mechanisms. These characteristics make development timelines longer and approval pathways more stringent. However, the rise of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) is dramatically transforming this sector, accelerating development, reducing costs, and enhancing regulatory compliance.
Understanding Complex Generics Development
Before diving into the role of technology, it’s crucial to understand what makes a generic drug “complex.” The U.S. FDA defines complex generics development as drugs with one or more of the following characteristics:
Complex active ingredients (e.g., peptides, polymers)
Complex formulations (e.g., liposomes, emulsions)
Complex routes of delivery (e.g., inhalation, ophthalmic)
Drug-device combination products (e.g., auto-injectors, metered-dose inhalers)
These complexities make standard bioequivalence testing insufficient. Instead, developers must provide additional analytical, clinical, or comparative data, increasing both the cost and time required for market readiness.
The Role of Digital Technologies in Complex Generics Development
1. Predictive Modeling and Simulation
Advanced modeling tools like physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling are helping researchers simulate drug behavior in the human body. These models allow for early identification of bioequivalence risks and formulation optimization.
Key benefits include:
Predicting in vivo outcomes from in vitro data
Reducing reliance on costly and time-consuming clinical trials
Enabling virtual bioequivalence assessments
For example, when developing a complex inhalation product, developers can simulate how the drug deposits in different parts of the lung based on particle size and inhalation force, thus tailoring the formulation more efficiently.
2. Artificial Intelligence in Formulation Development
AI and machine learning algorithms are increasingly being used to optimize drug formulations. These technologies can analyze massive datasets to predict how different excipients and manufacturing parameters will impact drug stability, solubility, or release profiles.
In complex generics development, AI helps in:
Selecting the most effective excipient combinations
Anticipating formulation issues like precipitation or degradation
Shortening the iteration cycle during pre-formulation stages
Some companies are now using generative AI to propose novel formulations based on target product profiles, reducing the number of experiments needed to reach an optimal solution.
Enhancing Analytical Capabilities Through Automation and AI
3. AI-Powered Analytical Method Development
Analytical methods are a critical part of complex generics, where proving sameness to the reference product is challenging. AI tools can:
Automate chromatographic method development
Optimize assay conditions
Predict impurity profiles
By accelerating method validation and reducing trial-and-error, these technologies ensure analytical robustness, a key factor in gaining regulatory approval.
4. Digital Twin Technology for Process Development
Digital twins—virtual replicas of manufacturing systems—are helping companies replicate and test different production scenarios digitally before implementation.
In the context of complex generics development, digital twins enable:
Real-time monitoring of production variables
Predictive maintenance for continuous manufacturing
Scenario analysis for process scale-up
This not only accelerates process development but also ensures that the manufacturing system is regulatory-ready from the outset.
Streamlining Regulatory Submissions with Digital Tools
Regulatory bodies like the FDA and EMA require extensive documentation and validation data for complex generics. Digital tools are streamlining this process in several ways:
eCTD software automates dossier compilation, reducing human error.
Regulatory AI platforms can scan documents for compliance gaps.
Natural language processing (NLP) tools help structure narrative reports more efficiently.
Moreover, agencies are increasingly open to accepting data derived from modeling and simulation, especially when clinical trials are difficult or unethical to conduct.
AI in Pharmacovigilance and Post-Market Surveillance
Once a complex generic hits the market, ongoing safety monitoring is essential. AI is transforming pharmacovigilance through:
Automated signal detection
Pattern recognition in adverse event databases
Predictive analytics for identifying emerging risks
These tools not only enhance patient safety but also protect the product’s market life by ensuring continued compliance with post-marketing obligations.
Case Example: AI in Inhalation Generic Development
A notable example of digital innovation in complex generics development is the application of AI in the development of a dry powder inhaler (DPI) generic. The company used AI-driven particle engineering and simulation tools to replicate the deposition profile of a branded DPI. This allowed them to meet regulatory requirements without a full clinical endpoint study, saving millions in development costs and shaving years off the timeline.
Challenges and Considerations
While digital technologies offer immense promise, they come with their own set of challenges:
Data integrity and validation: AI algorithms must be validated to meet GMP and regulatory standards.
Regulatory acceptance: While the FDA and EMA are increasingly open to digital tools, full acceptance is still evolving.
Talent gap: The integration of AI requires teams with both pharmaceutical and data science expertise.
That said, companies that embrace these challenges and invest early in digital capabilities stand to gain a significant competitive advantage.
Conclusion
Complex generics development is no longer just about chemistry and clinical science—it's about digital innovation. AI, machine learning, predictive modeling, and automation are enabling pharmaceutical manufacturers to develop high-quality complex generics faster, more efficiently, and with greater regulatory confidence.
As regulatory agencies continue to support and adapt to these technologies, early adopters will be best positioned to lead in this high-value, high-impact segment of the pharmaceutical market. By integrating digital tools into the entire development lifecycle—from pre-formulation to post-marketing—companies can not only bring complex generics to patients more quickly but also improve access to affordable, life-saving medications worldwide.

I keep writing and deleting posts talking about my gender because I feel like I don't have enough language to talk about it, even with myself. Like I love talking about gender theory and how I feel like I fit into it but every time I try it's clunky and doesn't even get my points across

ok final post for real but i was up til 3 am last night and rn it's almost 1 am and i'm like last night i had anxiety for the first time in forever and i think it's related to my birthday approaching in 3 days which I always have mixed feelings about not bc of aging bc as readers of my blog will know aging is a gift not given to many but bc i've had numerous sour birthday experiences usually at the hands of ex boyfriends and so i've lowkey developed a complex over it even tho i have had a few lovely birthdays this decade as well. let's rank
worst birthdays for me 21 by far, 22 my bf forget my bday, 27 cried at work and bf was late to my bday
neutral birthdays 24, 25 (covid year), 29
slightly to pretty positive 23, 26 surprised by my bff, 28 my friend and i threw a crawfish boil
30 is shaping up to be neutral to positive hopefully, i have to stay in a crummy motel next week bc my landlord is doing work on the house and it of course landed on my bday but im trying to treat it like a little vacay lol..... there is a pool but it looks quite quite crummy.... anyway speaking of vacay i will be taking one for real the week after my bday going down to nyc actually for no reason at all except as a 30th bday treat to myself which is funny bc i dont like cities generally and this trip has also been giving me anxiety im like why did i book this. i know why and one of the reasons is because i love travelling by myself i do a ton of it already and tbh it is one of the reasons i'm never getting married lol burying that in here bc i just love being by my fucking self and in my thirties i would like to do a solo cross country road trip it has been a dream of mine since childhood actually and while i've been to nyc at least a dozen times i've never done it completely alone. like i might be seeing one friend for dinner but other than that i am taking a vow of silence for 48 hours lol. anyway this post is getting too long the point is that i'm lining up plans for my bday in the existential war i am locked in against my birthday in order to make it a pleasant experience etc etc etc.
I try to go insert paragraph breaks in my post but they don't come naturally to me :'( and even when i go back to add them im like i just don't see anywhere that i want to distrupt the flow of my train of thought. idk if my writing makes sense to you it makes sense to me.

Soooo I just found this in my drafts funnily enough — I wrote it before the second season came out so I guess sometimes in late 2022/early 2023. Back when I was (foolishly) hopeful for season 2 and honestly I might make something out of it and get to writing.

How, in my opinion, they can salvage the ‘call me Aleksander’ scene : flashbacks of moments between the Darkling and Alina that we’ve never seen before (the deleted scenes!!! More of Alina’s life at the Little Palace please thanks), prior to the unfortunate name reveal, shown to us one by one as Alina grieve for what could have been and for the man she’s come to almost love. Mal calling him by his name and Alina immediately snapping at him not to say it aloud, with us the audience realizing that she feels guilty over sharing this last confidence she’s gotten from him. The Darkling letting her know, very bitterly, that she’s made him feel .. human (not in so many words, ‘course), that he thought he’d finally found the one who’ll accept and understand him, his one true equal, that he believed for a second that he’ll never be alone again, and him looking back at her and telling her he’s been unfortunately mistaken, that it was a weakness on his part - I put my trust in a girl who cannot stand the thought of her own potential - and that he’ll never even think of trusting her ever again, with her yelling back that he never really did, did he, that his flowery words meant nothing because it wasn’t enough, that he’s never given them a chance, that he shouldn’t delude his actions for what they are to ease his own guilty conscience, and that she’s the one who’s never going to trust him again. And then we have the Darkling responding that she never did, either, because she ran off without hearing his side of the story. We see them glaring down at each other, the echoes of the proud, hurtful words barring them from adding more, then the Darkling disappears and she’s left alone with her dark thoughts. We get the ‘you betrayed me’ as well as the ‘all men can be made fools’ line from Aleksander. We get a ‘I was merciful’ moment from the Darkling, after he threatens Mal’s life. We get the ‘I want you to know my name, will you have it?’ line in a different way, maybe a ‘I want you to know my story, will you hear it, Alina?’ and him telling her about the events in the Demon in the Wood, and us being shown them, of course, and more - how he came to be an ever present member of Ravka’s court and the founder of the second army, how badly the Grishas were treated and are treated even now. I want him to tell her about his past lives. If he obviously trusts her enough to tell her the name tattooed on his heart, he trusts her enough to tell her all that’s happened to him, to make her understand that not all things are black and white, that it was for the greater good, for them, and when he realizes that she can’t see past his wrongdoings, we see his anger. How dare she judge him when she’s abandoned Ravka for a peaceful life with Mal? When she’s betrayed him?
Season 2 do not fail me I want the best angst ever written, please. Let Alina find out Aleksander destroyed Novokribirsk because they were actively trying to assassinate her and that he wasn’t lying on that front, it’s interesting to see her conflicted emotions at war. I want a lovers to tragic obsessive enemies. I want misunderstandings, with the frustrating realization that they’ll never talk about anything without making it worse. But I also want Alina to realize that the Darkling is the extreme, that what he is fighting for might have started as a good cause, but that he lost himself centuries-of-persecution earlier. I want her to learn from his mistakes. To see in him a version of herself that she might become, should she forget herself. Overall I just want to see her fight for her people and become BAMF. Ughhh so many thoughts

read camp dama.scus. enjoyed some stuff, really wish i didn't have the experience so often reading a book that's Good and Progressive and about Queer Affirmation etc of feeling like i'm side-eying the author like 'and you know that delineating the people that oppose you as pure evil that therefore deserves torture or death or being eliminated from society entirely is bad, right? you know that, right??'
#it's kind of funny bc the main character is a jack chick tract atheist in a way bc#she rejects her religion (REALLY quickly and easily lol) and immediately starts... conceiving of HERSELF as a prophet/god#as in. starts making up 'bible' verses that are about Her and how awesome she is#and how she's going to bring down her enemies with the righteous flaming sword of vengeance and wrath and truth etc#which i would love as a character Thing if the narrative didn't just treat this as 'super metal' with absolutely no further examination#(seriously she casually drops that she's been making up bible-style verses abt herself and her ideas#in convo with her Token Good Christian friend. by CITING ONE OF THEM#LIKE IT'S A BIBLE VERSE. and then going 'o yeah i've been making those up'#and her friend's reaction is just 'haha that's sick' and moving on)#listen i'm all for god complexes and edgy bullshit but the presentation along w the general#descriptions of the Enemy as 'cartoonishly pure evil' and implicit 'haha nice!' around the idea of THEM getting tortured forever#just leaves me ://///#i might be oversensitive to this after stuff like Sorrowland and Pet but.... just. ech. i wish i didn't have to play the game of#'do you think torture is ok if it's someone you don't like?' and 'do you consider people who do bad things as human?' in the first place#also it was just a HUGELY underwritten book lol it'd make a decent movie but viewed as a book it gets funnier the longer i think about it#was marketed as conversion camp horror. 0 conversion camp content bc IT ALREADY HAPPENED#0 relationship development bc the two people the MC connects with she ALREADY HAD RELATIONSHIPS WITH. THAT SHE FORGOT#so you can 'i'm falling for x again' all you want dr tingle that's not what's happening the work is not there#also ofc the other two people are just. The Tech Guy and The Cool Hot Nice Love Interest (2 aesthetic traits no personality)#so yeah like. some very good horror moments/concepts! but some Problems. For Sure#vic talks#book talk
